The variety is short-growing and characterized by a slow growth rate, which reduces the need for frequent mowing. The plant has a dark green color and medium stand density; it contains endophytes to increase natural resistance to pests.

Mustang 4 is resistant to brown rust, helminthosporiosis, stem rust, and net blotch. It exhibits high adaptability to summer stress conditions, including drought and heat, and also demonstrates good salt tolerance, shade tolerance, and resistance to trampling.

The variety is intended for creating turf covers on home lawns, in park zones, on sports fields, golf courses, and for the production of sod rolls.
