The variety forms a dense sod and possesses narrow, bristle-like leaves, which is typical for the species Festuca ovina ssp. duriuscula. The uniformity of the stand combined with slow growth allows this variety to be used for the establishment of low-maintenance lawns, including golf courses.
The plant possesses good disease resistance and is adapted for growth on well-drained, poor soils. Despite the potential for using fescue for forage purposes, this variety has been bred and is used primarily as a turfgrass crop.
