The variety Biljart, known as Scotts C-26, is a perennial, bunch-type plant. It does not produce rhizomes, forming a dense turf that prevents weed encroachment and is resistant to trampling.

The plant has a fine-leaf structure and low growth habit. It demonstrates resistance to dollar spot, red thread and leaf rust. The variety maintains an intense green color during the summer period with minimal maintenance and outperforms slender creeping red fescue in terms of drought tolerance.

Modern taxonomic classification refers this variety to hard fescue (Festuca brevipila), which ensures higher turf density and aesthetic quality compared to typical forms of sheep's fescue (Festuca ovina).
