The Barreppo variety forms a dense turf and possesses fine, medium-green leaves. The plant is characterized by high adaptability to dry and poor soils, which allows it to be used for the creation of low-maintenance lawns.
The variety possesses resistance to the disease red thread and tolerates regular mowing well. In taxonomy, the species is often classified as Festuca trachyphylla, although in earlier sources it may have been classified within the Festuca ovina group.
