The variety is also known by the synonym Pelosa and is most widespread in the Salento region of Italy. The plant is characterized by high growth vigor, the presence of green apical buds, and large five-lobed leaves.

The fruits have yellow-green skin and possess good resistance to damage during transport and exposure to rain. The main crop is formed in abundance and is highly valued as a raw material for the production of dried fruits, while the first crop (breba) is absent in this variety.
