Variety description

The Mouissonne variety is also known by the synonyms Mouissonne Noire, Bouissonne, Moissoa and Figue Violette. It is a traditional French variety grown in the Var department.
The plant has medium-sized leaves with 3–5 deep lobes. The variety produces two harvests per season: the first (brebas) weighing about 50 g and the second (more abundant) weighing about 40 g. The shape of the fruits varies from pyriform to turbinate.
The fruits are intended for fresh consumption. The skin is thin, dark purple in color, sometimes with a reticulated pattern. The pulp is red, characterized by a sweet taste, small seeds and a fine texture.
