Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety «Monaco» (synonyms «Monaco Bianco», «Fico della Lunigiana») is a historical Italian variety from the Lunigiana region. The fruits have a pear shape and a greenish-yellow skin. The flavor profile is defined as «honey-berry», possessing moderate complexity.

The plant is noted for high productivity. The fruits have an open «eye», which makes them sensitive to high humidity and rainy weather, provoking cracking and the development of mold inside the fruit. The variety is traditionally used fresh; drying is also possible.
