10 August 2026
The Morettina tree is vigorous and has a spreading crown shape. The variety is uniferous, meaning it produces one crop per season, and is capable of setting fruit parthenocarpically, without the need for pollination.
The fruits are small in size, round, and covered with dark skin, the color of which varies from purple to almost black. The flesh has an intense red color, a juicy and grainy texture, and is distinguished by a high sugar content.
The variety is of Italian origin and belongs to traditional local cultivars historically widespread in the Puglia and Tuscany regions. The primary intended use of the fruit is for fresh consumption.
