The variety is a local heirloom plant common primarily in the province of Taranto and the Murge area. The tree is characterized by high vigor and forms a spreading crown. The leaves are large, five-lobed, with a wavy-serrated margin; the petiole is of medium length.

The fruiting type is common, parthenocarpic, not requiring pollination. The variety is bifere, meaning it yields two crops per year. The first-crop fruits (breba) are large, weighing from 90 to 120 grams, and have a flattened asymmetrical shape. The plant has no special agronomic requirements.
