The plant forms dense cushions or rosettes of rounded lobed leaves of a grey-green shade. The flowers are simple, violet-pink with a characteristic white center, arranged upright.
The variety is distinguished by a long flowering period from the beginning of May to mid-September or November. The plant is characterized by winter hardiness in USDA zones 4–9 and drought tolerance after rooting.
Used as a groundcover crop for landscaping alpine slides, rock gardens, and for cultivation in containers.
