Variety description

The plant forms a compact, dense, rounded bush. The height of the leaf rosette is about 25–40 cm; including flower stalks, the plant reaches 50–75 cm. Leaves are large, rounded, with wavy serrated edges and a pronounced glossy sheen. The leaf color is a deep dark purple, almost black, with the underside having a bright pinkish-purple hue.
Flowering occurs from June to August. Small white or pinkish-white flowers are gathered in paniculate inflorescences on thin, stiff flower stalks. The variety is evergreen or semi-evergreen, possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zone 4), and is resistant to diseases and pests.
The plant is capable of growing in both partial shade and full sun, where the leaf color is most vivid. It is used in landscape design for creating borders, mixed borders, decorating the foreground of flower beds, rock gardens, and also as a container crop.
