The leaves of the variety have pronounced ruffling, with their underside colored in an eggplant or dark-ruby shade. The plant forms a dense clump 20–35 cm in height, reaching 40–50 cm in height and 30–45 cm in diameter including the flower stalks. Small pale-pink flowers are gathered in paniculate inflorescences.

Flowering continues from May-June to July-August. The variety is semi-evergreen or evergreen, possesses good winter hardiness (USDA zone 4), and increased resistance to sunlight. Sturdy flower stalks are not prone to lodging. The plant is suitable for borders, rock gardens, and container cultivation.
