The fruits resemble an orange in appearance and often have a flattened shape. The rind of the variety is tougher and more difficult to peel compared to clementines. The fruits contain seeds. The plant is adapted to the climatic and soil conditions of the Mediterranean, in particular Cyprus.

Harvesting takes place from January to April. The fruit pulp is very juicy, with a juice content that often exceeds 60% of the total fruit weight. In literature, the variety is often mentioned as a synonym for the Ortanique tangor.
