Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a hybrid of Prunus cerasus and Prunus canescens, obtained from open-pollinated seeds of the GiSelA® 5 rootstock. It belongs to the Corette® series and is intended for use in intensive horticulture.

Trees grafted onto this rootstock enter into fruiting in the third year. In terms of vigor, Clinton is comparable to the Gisela 5 rootstock, while being characterized by a low propensity for root suckering. The yield of varieties grafted onto it corresponds to the level of the Gisela 5 and 6 rootstocks.

Fruit size when using this rootstock does not have significant differences compared to the Gisela 5 and 6 control samples; however, crop thinning may be required to ensure optimal quality indicators.
