The hybrid is an interspecific rootstock obtained by crossing Solanum lycopersicum L. and Solanum habrochaites. Its purpose is exclusively for use as a base for grafting tomatoes to increase productivity and improve the growth parameters of the scion.

The plant possesses genetic resistance to root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) due to the presence of the Mi-1.2 gene. Resistance to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici and Fusarium root and crown rot (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici) is also noted.

The use of this rootstock promotes better tolerance to abiotic stresses, such as moisture deficit or insufficient nutrient supply.
