The Bits of Lace variety, also known as Jean Varnier, is a rounded shrub up to 1.5 meters tall. This is a plant with lacecap-type inflorescences, consisting of central fertile flowers and large sterile flowers on the periphery.

The petal color can be white or pale pink depending on soil acidity and the presence of aluminum. The flowering period occurs in July–August, with buds forming on the previous year's shoots. The variety is suitable for hardiness zones 6–9 and is used in ornamental gardening.
