The variety Candy Floss (synonym Schrolla01) is a compact shrub with lush foliage. The inflorescences are of the 'mophead' type. The flowers have a creamy white hue upon opening, which gradually changes to a soft pink. The color change to blue-violet tones depends on soil acidity and its aluminum content.
The plant is positioned as an ornamental crop suitable for creating borders, use in gardens and parks, and for growing in containers. Like most representatives of the species Hydrangea macrophylla, the variety prefers moist, well-drained soils and requires protection from severe frosts due to the sensitivity of its flower buds.
