Variety description

The plant is a densely branching shrub with upright shoots and a globose crown, reaching a height of 0.8 to 1.2 m. The leaves are large, elliptical in shape, dark green in color, with a serrated margin.

Flowering is abundant, lasting from July to September. Large globose inflorescences consist of sterile flowers about 3 cm in diameter. The color varies from blue and mauve tones in acidic soils to pink and pastel-mauve in neutral and slightly acidic ones.

The variety has winter hardiness down to -18…-20 °C. For planting, semi-shaded locations and moist, well-drained soils are preferred. The plant is used in solitary plantings, hedges, and for decorating terraces.
