The plant is a dense shrub with dark green ovate leaves and young shoots of a red hue. The height of the bush varies from 1.5 to 3 m. The cone-shaped inflorescences consist of flowers on conspicuous pedicels.

The variety possesses winter hardiness and lodging resistance due to strong shoots. Cultivation requires fertile soil with an acidic or neutral reaction, regular watering, and spring pruning to maintain the shape of the bush and stimulate flowering.
