The variety forms a dense, rounded shrub with erect reddish-brown shoots. The leaves are dark green, egg-shaped, pointed at the tip, and pubescent on both sides. The height and width of an adult plant are up to 95 cm; in rare cases, the shrub reaches 1.2 m.
The inflorescences are dense pyramidal or broadly conical panicles up to 20–25 cm in size. At the beginning of flowering, they are creamy white, gradually turning pink and acquiring a crimson shade by the end of summer. The variety prefers sunny areas or partial shade, as well as moist, moderately drained soils.
