The plant reaches a height of 1.0–1.25 m. The main morphological feature of the variety is its double sterile flowers. The color of the inflorescences can vary from pink or mauve-pink to bluish shades depending on the soil acidity level.

The variety is intended for ornamental use as a border plant or for cultivation in containers. The plant prefers semi-shaded locations and has winter hardiness down to -12 °C.
