Kiyosumisawa is a compact, rounded, and dense shrub reaching 1.2–1.5 m in height and width. Young foliage has a purple, burgundy, or copper hue when emerging, while mature leaves are dark green and have a serrated edge.
Inflorescences are flat, lacecap-type. Marginal sterile flowers are pink with a reddish margin, fading to white as they age; central flowers are small and fertile. Flowering continues from July to September-October.
The plant prefers partial shade, sites protected from wind, and moist, well-drained soil. It belongs to USDA hardiness zone 6. Used in landscape design for border plantings and park compositions.
