Hydrangea variety Bellevue is a large spreading shrub, reaching 3.5–4 meters in height and width. A distinctive feature is the very large, up to 40–50 cm long, wide oval leaves with a coarse villous texture.

Inflorescences are flat, lacecap type, with a diameter of 25–40 cm. Central fertile flowers are colored in rich lilac-violet or purple tones, while lighter, almost white sterile flowers are located along the edges. Flowering is profuse, occurring in late summer.

The plant prefers moist, humus-rich soils and locations protected from direct sunlight and strong cold winds. Sensitive to drought. In the first years after planting, support may be required, and after flowering is completed, formative pruning is carried out.
