The plant reaches a height of 1.8–2.4 meters. The foliage is characterized by a glossy texture and a dark blue-green shade, the stems have a purple-green color.

The variety is female; for fruiting, male pollinator plants are required, such as Blue Prince or Blue Stallion. The plant has high winter hardiness (USDA zone 5) and prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soils.

The shrub requires protection from strong cold winds, especially in regions with a harsh climate.
