The Fejø tree reaches a height of about 6 meters. The fruits are medium-sized, characterized by a thin shell that allows them to be easily cracked by hand, and they drop easily from the tree upon ripening. The taste of the kernels is characterized as exceptionally mild and sweet.
The variety has a high yield and good overall health status. It is sensitive to late spring frosts, while its winter hardiness corresponds to zone H2 or climate zones 7A–9B. The fruits are used fresh and dried, as well as for the preparation of tinctures.
