Fruits are very large, often having a double-nut shape. The main distinguishing feature of the variety is the intense wine-red or burgundy color of the kernel skin, which is maintained even after culinary processing.
The tree is characterized by medium-vigorous growth. The variety is not self-fertile and requires a pollinator variety for fruit set. The bud break and flowering period is mid-late.
The variety has medium disease resistance and shows high sensitivity to late spring frosts. The kernel has a mild taste and is used for fresh consumption, in cooking, and for preparing tinctures.
