Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid of Juniperus chinensis and Juniperus sabina, obtained as a mutation of the ‘Old Gold’ variety. The plant has a low-growing spreading form with raised shoots, the tips of which are slightly curved downwards. At the age of 10 years, the height reaches 0.5–0.75 m, an adult specimen grows up to 0.9–1 m with a crown width of 2–3 meters.

The needles are soft, scale-like and needle-like, greenish-yellow in color with bright golden tips that darken in winter. The variety grows slowly, with an annual growth of about 10 cm. It possesses high frost resistance (USDA zones 4–9) and resistance to polluted urban environments, and tolerates short-term drought well in the presence of drained soils.
