Variety description

The variety is an evergreen low-growing shrub with a dense, star-shaped crown. The plant features a mixed needle type, combining needle-like and scale-like forms. The golden-yellow color is most intense on young shoots, while the color in the center of the crown can be more glaucous-green.

The shoots grow radially from the center; young growth is slightly upright, while the tips may droop with age. The growth rate is medium to slow, approximately 5–10 cm per year. By 10 years of age, the shrub reaches 0.5–0.6 m in height and 1–1.5 m in width.

The plant is winter hardy and drought tolerant, adapting to various soil types and urban conditions. It prefers sunny locations, as it loses its decorative coloration in the shade and becomes prone to fungal infections. The branches are strong, but may be damaged by heavy snowfall.

It is used in landscape design as a solitaire, in group plantings, for rock gardens, alpine slides, slope reinforcement, and container gardening.
