Variety description

The plant is an interspecific hybrid of Juniperus chinensis and Juniperus sabina. The shrub has a wide, often cushion-shaped crown, with branches growing at an angle of about 45 degrees and gracefully drooping shoot tips. At the age of ten years, the bush reaches a height of 1 meter and a width of up to 3 meters; mature specimens can grow up to 2 meters in height.

The needles have a characteristic glaucous-blue or silvery-blue hue, which is most vibrant in the sun; in the shade, the color becomes greener. The needle type includes both scale-like and needle-like forms, and a purple tint may appear in winter. The shrub is frost-hardy (USDA zone 5), tolerates heat, drought, and air pollution well, but is sensitive to moisture stagnation in the soil.

The variety is used in landscape design as an ornamental plant for single and group plantings, rock garden arrangements, and slope stabilization. The plant is undemanding and resistant to diseases and pests, but it contains mildly toxic substances.
