The plant is an allotetraploid hybrid having a broad picturesque crown with irregularly arranged branches, which often have drooping tips. The mature shrub reaches a height of 3–4 m and a width of 4–6 m.

The bluish-green needles are represented by both scale-like and needle-like forms. The crop is characterized by high winter hardiness and the ability to tolerate urban conditions and pruning, however, it is susceptible to rust and rots under waterlogging.
