The period from emergence to head formation takes 55–70 days; when grown for greens, harvesting is possible in 45 days. It forms a large, upright rosette with lanceolate, crisp, and juicy leaves. Leaf color varies from green to a deep reddish-brown shade, which intensifies in cold weather.
Heads are elongated-oval in shape, large and loose; sometimes leaf tying is required for firming. The plant has a delicate sweetish taste. The variety is characterized by high resistance to bolting, tipburn, and root rot. Intended for fresh consumption; suitable for autumn-winter and early spring cultivation in the open field and containers.
