Barextra is a tetraploid variety that does not form flowering stems in the first year of life when spring-sown, which ensures the production of high-quality forage. The variety is characterized by increased persistence in the sward and larger leaves compared to similar varieties.

The plant is used for the production of silage and green fodder, as well as for livestock grazing, being included in specialized grass mixtures. The variety possesses pronounced winter hardiness and high resistance to rust infection.
