The variety is tetraploid, distinguished by rapid establishment and active growth during the winter period in mild climates. It belongs to late-maturing varieties, which allows for an extended vegetation period and additional forage volume at the end of the season.
It possesses resistance to rust, snow mold, red thread, leaf spot, and Sclerotinia. It is used as a forage crop for silage production and grazing, as well as in lawn grass mixtures due to its ability to form a dense sward.
In publications, the variety is often classified as Lolium multiflorum, including the westerwoldicum subtype, and is sometimes described as an annual ryegrass due to its short life cycle.
