The Aachener Hausäpfelchen variety, also known as Aachener Hausapfel or Cornelisapfel, was first described in 1816. It is currently included in the Red List of endangered local cultivated plants of Germany.

The fruits reach harvest maturity in the first half of October. The apples are characterized by low sensitivity to mechanical damage, which allows them to be stored until spring. Traditionally, the variety was grown in high-stem orchards of the Aachen and Eupen regions.
