The tree of this variety has moderate vigor and is a typical crop for traditional Aachen orchards. The variety is included among rare and endangered agricultural crops.

Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in early to mid-October. If storage conditions are maintained, the apples retain their consumer quality until March. There is a related variety, «Doppelter Aachener Hausapfel», which is distinguished by stronger growth and a specific crown habit.
