The variety belongs to the industrial cider apple "acid" technological group. Fruits ripen in the third ten-day period of October and are not intended for fresh consumption. High yield of the variety is combined with a rich polyphenol content in the fruits, which is important for the fermentation process.

The plant possesses good general resistance, in particular low susceptibility to fire blight, scab, and powdery mildew. The variety is a local product of folk selection, historically selected in the Asturias region.
