The variety is a spontaneous bud mutation discovered on an Imperial Gala tree. Upon ripening, the fruits develop a saturated red blush with darker stripes. Early fruit thinning is required to obtain good-sized fruit.

The tree is characterized as vigorous with a spreading crown shape. The variety belongs to the dessert apple group intended for fresh consumption. Under US conditions, harvesting occurs in late August.
