The Russian variety Baltika is a vigorous tree reaching a height of 5–10 m. The fruits have a mass of 120–140 g and are light yellow in color with a diffused striped blush. The white juicy flesh of the fruits has a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is distinguished by high yield and is recommended for cultivation in the Leningrad region.

In Finland, the Baltika variety is officially recognized by the nursery growers' association Taimistoviljelijät ry as adapted to local climatic conditions. Detailed morphological characteristics of the Finnish variety are not presented in open publications in Russian, and there is no information regarding its identity to the Russian variety.
