The tree is vigorous, reaches a height of 4–5 meters, and forms a powerful crown. The variety enters bearing relatively late and is characterized by average yield with a marked tendency toward biennial bearing. It is triploid, therefore it does not act as a good pollinator for other varieties.

The fruits are round, sometimes slightly ribbed, greenish-yellow in color with an intense reddish blush on the sunny side. The flesh is yellowish-white, very juicy and soft, and possesses a spicy aroma. The variety is for table use; the fruits are prone to rapid softening during long-term storage.

The variety shows good resistance to scab, but is susceptible to powdery mildew and fire blight. On heavy, waterlogged soils, the tree is prone to canker. It prefers nutritious, moist, permeable soils and a cool climate; it does not tolerate water stagnation.
