The variety is a local landrace originating from Piedmont and is traditionally maintained in collection nurseries to preserve genetic diversity. The fruits are medium-sized and short conical in shape; their skin is smooth and dry.
A characteristic feature of the variety is the frequent formation of double, fused fruits. The apples belong to the late-maturity category and show a high soluble solids content, reaching 18.1° Brix.
