Borsdorfer, often referred to as Edelborsdorfer, represents a group of apple varieties. The fruits are small to medium in size and have a round-oblate shape. The smooth glossy skin is covered with a wax bloom; the ground color of the fruit is pale yellow, with a reddish blush and yellow lenticels appearing on the sun-exposed side.
The white flesh of the fruit is juicy, with a crisp texture, sweet taste, and a light cinnamon aroma. It is a winter variety, reaching harvest maturity by mid-October and consumer maturity from December. The fruits are well-suited for fresh consumption, as well as for culinary processing and baking.
