The tree is vigorous, with a spreading crown and a spur-type bearing habit. The fruits are medium to large in size, round or slightly flattened, often having ribbing. The skin is greenish-yellow with a red-orange or brownish-red blush and a characteristic presence of russeting.

The flesh is firm and crisp, of a cream or pale green shade, distinguished by a rich sweet-and-sour taste. Harvest takes place in October, and consumer maturity occurs from December to March. The variety is prone to biennial bearing and is a triploid, requiring the presence of pollinators.

The plant possesses sufficient winter hardiness, shows resistance to powdery mildew and cancer with moderate sensitivity to scab. There are clonal varieties, such as «Red Boskoop», having a more intense red fruit coloration.
