The apple variety Diamond is registered in the registries under the auspices of the Finnish Nursery Association. An officially recognized description of the variety exists, however, detailed information regarding its height, disease resistance, and taste qualities is not provided in available sources.

The variety name is often confused with the Belarusian winter variety Дыямент or the Chinese variety Black Diamond. Due to the lack of a publicly available detailed description of the characteristics of the Finnish variety Diamond, it should be distinguished from other apple trees with similar names.
