The variety is an ancient local genotype currently considered an object of biodiversity conservation. Due to the unique biochemical characteristics of the fruits, the variety is of interest for breeding work.

The fruits are characterized by a very high level of polyphenols and antioxidant capacity, exceeding the indicators of many modern commercial varieties. Taste qualities are specific, expressed by the presence of astringency and a bitter aftertaste, and the flesh is prone to rapid enzymatic browning, which limits fresh consumption.
