The name Glasrenette has historically been applied to different apple varieties, among which Reinette de Champagne and Golden Noble are most frequently mentioned. Reinette de Champagne is characterized by medium-sized fruits with a flattened-round shape and a sour taste, the skin of which acquires a yellowish-green hue with a pink blush upon ripening.

The Golden Noble variety, which also frequently appears under this name, is distinguished by large, bright yellow fruits with smooth skin, which are primarily used in cooking, as the variety is poorly suited for fresh consumption.
