The fruits are medium to medium-large in size, flat in shape, sometimes with slight ribbing. The skin is smooth, glossy, greenish-yellow in color, often with a pink blush. The flesh is greenish-white, firm, crisp, and rather dry; the taste is sweet-sour and mild.

The variety belongs to the late-maturing group; harvesting is carried out at the end of October. The tree is characterized by consistent yields and early entry into the fruiting period. The name Glattapfel was historically used as a trade name due to the smooth skin of the fruits.
