The variety originated as a chance seedling in local populations, and its initial distribution is associated with the areas around the Besnica river and Martin Vrh. Currently, it is an object of national genetic resource conservation programs.

The fruits are large, round-flattened in shape, golden-yellow at harvest, often with a reddish blush. During storage, a characteristic waxy bloom develops on the skin. The flesh is yellow, the taste is sweet-sour, with high acidity gradually decreasing during the storage process.

The variety is late-maturing, with harvesting taking place in mid-October. When using M7 rootstock, the tree height reaches 5 meters. The fruits are distinguished by high keeping quality: they can be stored until May in cellar conditions, and until July in a refrigerator.
