The variety originated as a chance seedling in the Benečija region. The tree is characterized by very vigorous growth and begins to bear fruit in the 4–5th year, with the variety being prone to biennial bearing. It has the synonyms Tolminka, Brkinka, Seuš, Štangerca, Zeuka.

The fruit is medium to large, round or slightly elongated in shape, and at the time of harvest is colored a muted red, often with a full blush. The variety shows resistance to major diseases such as scab and powdery mildew and matures at the end of September or beginning of October.
