The tree is characterized by vigorous growth at a young age, which slows down as it matures, reaching a height of 2 to 8 meters depending on the rootstock. The variety is sensitive to climatic conditions and prefers warm, wind-protected locations, as it is susceptible to cancer, moniliosis, and spotting in adverse environments.

Fruits are of medium or small size, have a light yellow color with a reddish-brown blush. The flesh is creamy white, fine-grained, and characterized by a high vitamin C content. The harvest is collected from the end of September to the middle of October; consumer maturity occurs from December. There is a mutant form «Roter Berlepsch» with a more intense red fruit color.
