The fruits are medium-sized, about 60 mm high and 80 mm wide, with a characteristic oblate shape and lacquer-red coloration. The flesh is greenish-white, medium-dense, juicy, and fine-textured, with a sweet-and-sour taste.

The variety is a winter type, characterized by high keeping quality, maintaining its quality until June. The trees are notable for their longevity, drought tolerance, and disease resistance; they are recommended for cultivation as standard or semi-standard trees.

The variety is suitable for table consumption and culinary use. It is known under several local names, such as Roter Pogatschapfel, Pogácsa alma, Haselapfel, Breitschädel, and Broadoarsch.
